Slowness/poor performance on new Mac Mini
Environment: Mac Mini 2023, purchased 3/24, M2 Pro, 32GB, 2TB NVMe SSD, 165GB free
MoneyDance ver., 2024.1 (5118)
Java version 8 update 421 (build 1.8.0_421-b09)
I am experience very slow performance within MD. For example:
switching between accounts: 8-11 seconds
scrolling in register and sidebar with mouse wheel: 2 sec. before seeing wheel, then 8-11 sec. before scrolling begins in relevant window (happens in every scroll initiation with or without switching panes)
with investment account selected, switching between register and securities detail views: 8 to 11 seconds, switching back, the same
moving mouse pointer from one pane to another (click or no click): the same
Other frequent operations incur similar delays making interaction frustrating.
My last system, an iMac with an Intel chip was much snappier, above operations were instant. I would like to return to this level of performance.
Otherwise, I am not seeing slowdowns in other applications on this system, nor do the monitoring utilities provided by Apple suggest serious memory pressure, or storage misreads. Activity Monitor is showing MD as using 9.5GB during a typical MD session.
Can the IK support staff provide guidance on speeding things up? Surely I am not the only person seeing this behavior.

Not IK, but a question: Are you syncing between computers and/or devices with iCloud? That will be the first question you are asked, as iCloud syncing in Sonoma is very slow due to how Aplple changed how files and such are stored; primarily that Moneydance sends a LOT of files to sync, and Apple changed things to accommodate bigger files, to the detriment of smaller ones.
