Swap Memo and Description fields
I will start a new thread as I can't get a reply to my old one and maybe someone else has this issue and can help. My bank did an upgrade and now the downloaded transactions put the payee in the memo filed and just generic info in the description field (Debit Card-POS Debit). Since the memo field is much longer the toolbox zap extension can't swap them. I need just a simple swap description and memo. Because of this issue my downloaded transactions don't categorize correctly either.

Why ‘can’t’ toolbox zap/swap deal with this? An error, a bug, examples please? Thanks.

I am wondering why this is happening anyway? If I download from the bank an ofx, qfx, pdf, csv file, they all have the correct thing in the description field, but the direct connect puts the description data in the memo field and the transaction type in the description field: Here is data from a downloaded OFX and the raw data from a direct connect transaction

toolbox won't work because the memo has to have the same name as the description

I would humbly suggest that the bank’s systems have a bug and they need to fix their DC and OFX code to match. I note that one has no Memo either? Which do you consider correct?
Which bank?
I wonder which way round md+ is?

The one with memo is the transaction in MD, the other one is the ofx export file from the bank converted to an xml. Zions Bank
It used to not even put anything in the memo field, now the direct connect puts the name (data from bank) in the memo field and something else in description field. So an exported quicken file and ofx file both don't have a memo field for the transaction when I import them into MD.
I tried and will try again to communicate with my bank. I just wish for now for a work around that the toolbox could do just a straight swap of both fields.
