Custom Colours

Hi
I am happy with my own customised theme except for one problem. In certain circumstances text is white on light grey or white, see attached 'Find & Replace' and 'Toolbox'. Also, the same for 'Batch Change' - the selected item using right click disappears - white text on white background.
Can anyone suggest a change I could make under 'Customise' to make the text more visible, without upsetting other areas of the theme?
Many thanks....
I am on latest preview MD and latest Ventura - Mac.

    Hi Tony,
Thank you for contacting Moneydance support.

Please can you confirm which version of Moneydance are you running?
When you navigate to File->Preferences->Appearance, which 'Theme' did you select?
Which operating system are you using?
Are you using dark mode within your system?

    Thank you

    Hi Maddy
As per my post, I am using latest MD preview and latest Ventura on a Mac. I am using dark mode.
I am afraid I can't remember which theme I customised to get started. Does this matter? If it does and I need to start again, how do I reset the 'Custom Colours' to their default. Once you change them some are unreadable as it is black text on black background!
    Look forward to hearing…
    Cheers…

Sorry for overlooking this information Tony!
Is it possible that both your system and Moneydance are using 'dark mode', perhaps?
If so, you could try to either switch Moneydance to the dark theme in the Preferences or switch your computer to use "light mode".

If I recall correctly with the dark themes Flat Dark is not customisable but Solarized Dark is.

When editable themes came in, with the dark theme it was difficult to get a colour selection that would make the overall theme workable, we ended up with many unreadable screens during the process. This was the reason that there is a non-editable dark theme, which does gives a basic workable dark theme.

Many thanks both Maddy and dwg. It looks as though I shall have to live with what I have got.
Is there any way to reset the custom colour options to default as I previously mentioned? Perhaps by choosing a different theme, or deleting a preferences file.
If I choose a customisable theme at the moment, because of the settings I have got applied, I can't read half of the possible colour choices for various elements as I have them set for my own dark theme.
I don"t sync, so which files should I delete on a mac to start over with a completely fresh start as if I had never used MD before?
    Many thanks…

When you customize a theme the details are stored in the file located in your .moneydance directory called custom_theme.properties

Delete or rename this file and you are back to the default theme.

This is a local file so settings in it never get synced between systems.

When you are in register view, navigate to Moneydance->Console Window.

In the resulting window, at the bottom left, you should see a circular icon with a down-facing arrow. In the dropdown menu, you should select File and Folders->Console Log->Custom Theme File->Show File Location.

Close Moneydance but keep the file location window open.

At this point, select the file called custom_theme and rename it to custom_theme2

Launch Moneydance again and it will reset the default theme.

I deleted both custom properies and config dict. When I restarted and went to customise in settings, this is what I got! Still unreadable?
    Hope you can help...

    Can you try selecting Custom->Customize?
    Does it make any difference?
