Wrong security selected from drop down with ENTER key

I honestly have been dealing with this problem for years, but today it finally bothered me enough to ask for help...
It is kind of random, and I have never figured out the "pattern". When I add new transactions for securities, I have to be super careful to use my mouse and not the keyboard. The scenario is, I need to enter a new dividend.
1. I go to the security field, click the mouse bring up the window (I have over 200+ securities, if that matters)
2. Start typing the letters of the security find match (only one option matches in this case)
3. If you press the ENTER key to select it (which is the most natural action, as your hands are already on the keyboard), it will pick the first one in the list
4. If you click it with the mouse, it will select the correct value

I have another scenario that always fails, two securities with close names (money market funds) The first one in the list is the one I always want, but if hit ENTER, it always picks the second one.

The only reason I'm posting this morning, is that I found/fixed at least 6 of these invesco transactions that were wrong.. Apparently, I have not been paying attention lately -- but I think the ENTER key should select what is selected in the list without me having to "validate" or be required to use the mouse.

I'm on current Fedora, using the latest beta of MD. This is not a new "issue", it has been happening for me on Linux for years.... It would be awesome if this could get addressed. Thanks.
