Version 2019.0 (1832) is not good
I upgraded to version 2019.0 (1832) today and immediately regretted that decision.
1) The Quote Loader extension, which was already performing poorly from a recent update where the speed was throttled and very slow to update, disappeared from my list of extensions and is no longer available to install.
2) To replace the missing extension, I tried to install the extension Quotes and Exchange Rates Updater v1033 but I get this error message when trying to install it:
I'm sorry, an error occurred: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException:
PKIX path validation failed:
java.security.cert.CertPathValidatorException: validity check failed
3) The backup speed is again extremely slow. It had been greatly improved over the past few releases and now that is gone. A backup of a 74GB file is now taking over 10 minutes to complete where it had been about a minute before
4) The basis cost for any stock that had a split is now calculating wrong by not taking the split quantities into account. I've attached a screenshot for one of my stocks in the file Basis_cost_error.pdf.
I already stopped doing beta upgrades as I found the code to be unstable but given that this is an official release, I have to wonder why proper regression testing was not done prior to the release. I like the product and the community aspect of the software but I will look elsewhere if there is another poorly executed upgrade.

You need to upgrade to 2024.2(5172) as many of your issues will be resolved.
Otherwise:
- Extensions will not be generally support for old versions
In 2024:
- Stock splits - cost basis engine was rewritten and properly handles splits
As for size and backups... Get to 2024, install Toolbox extension.. Update mode, Advanced menu. Shrink Dataset and you will probably be very happy...

Thank you so much, Stuart. After your note, I looked to see why the update did not take when I performed it this morning. I had an old version of Moneydance still installed. I deleted the old, made sure to start the new instance and I am now running the correct version. I installed the Toolbox plugin and was able to reduce my backup by 50%.
Thanks for the quick response and the information I needed.
