Moneydance triggers Norton 360 to display Potential Threat Blocked
Hi, I'm using Windows 11 latest build with Moneydance 2024.2 (5172)
Since installing this update (5172) I am getting this Norton 360 Potential Threat Blocked message frequently throughout the Moneydance open session. Previously I could prevent this message from appearing by setting Norton 360 threat exclusions for Moneydance.exe. This no longer works for some reason! Can someone please suggest how I prevent these messages from appearing going forward. Hopefully once and for all.
Question - Why does Moneydance even trigger such an event? Slightly worrying if you ask me.
Thank you

Hi David
In the past I got the same thing. However Norton 360 is in the process of updating it users with a new look 360. Norton did this on my main computer. When I installed 2024.2(5172) I got a warning “Suspicious file detected” Norton then automatically scanned the file and proclaimed it safe and the Moneydance install completed. See video. The first time I ran this new build Norton again gave a warning, scanned the file and proclaimed it safe. Next time I opened Moneydance, no warning or at least so far.
I manually uninstalled Norton 360 on my other computers and reinstalled to get the new version of Norton 360.
Hope this helps.

Hi Derekkent23, Sorry I have only just seen your reply. I usually get an email notification but didn't this time. Thank you for passing that on. I will give that a try.
Best Wishes
David
