Investment - Fee classification issue

This issue seems to have come up in 2024.2 and may be by design, but it's a hindrance.

When downloading transactions from my retirement accounts, I'm getting MiscInc / Earnings - Gain Loss transactions with dollar values which are pointless, but need to be addressed because they distort account balances. Deleting transactions don't work because they keep getting downloaded again, so the workaround was to categorize the transaction as "Invest Inc: Unrealized" and then to add a fee equal to the dollar amount of the gain/loss and categorize the fee as "Invest Inc: Unrealized". This restores account balances to correctness, while allowing a net neutral accounting assignment.

BUG/Issue - With 2024.2 it seems as though you can no longer assign an income category to a fee.

Or maybe there is a better way to deal with MiscInc that doesn't throw off balances?

The fee as income category bug has been fixed for the next alpha.

Any update on a production release of the next version. This bug has now gotten super annoying with year end mutual fund distributions hitting.

We have seen a new Alpha release, but it does have a few problems. No signs of a new stable or even preview release.
