After an update, the reconcile window is not responsive, nor the keyboard shortcut - Mac M2, Sequoia

Thanks. I am having difficulty following your instructions. I don't see install/launch toolbox extension - I don't see toolbox in the list of available extensions. I am on an older version 2019.3. Do I need to update to a newer version to see those options you are listing?

Yes, you do need to update to see Toolbox, I'm pretty sure 2019.3 is too old for Toolbox. Also, if you upgrade, there have been fixes to invalid windows issues between 2019 and 2024, so simply upgrading might fix the problem.

Also, there may be ways to fix your issue in 2019.3 without Toolbox, but paying a discounted half price upgrade for a 5 year old version might not be a bad idea. Your choice, of course, you are never required to upgrade as long as MD continues to work on your system (like it might stop working if you make enough changes like Operating Systems - Apple likes to break old software)

*IF* you wish to update, you should have your license available and go to
    https://infinitekind.com/update
to check what the cost of an upgrade would be.

If you don't want to upgrade, ask for more info on how to fix invalid windows with your current version (it's almost certain it is due to a window being rendered improperly given your first post)

As you say. Too old for toolbox.

    The manual fix is….
    A) use hot keys to move the window. Someone else will have to jump in here.
    or
    B) close MD. Rename config.dict. Relaunch MD

I'm not a Mac user but I have taken some notes over the years

A number of possible solutions are presented here:

    1. For the Mac OS, if a window is off screen the "show all application windows" should work.

This is normally bound to the control-down arrow key but could be remapped in the System Preferences->Keyboard (Short cuts tab, and look at the "Mission Control" application).

    2. You can also try clicking and hold on the MD icon in you task bar, a menu should pop up with the "Show All Windows". This may show the hidden window which could be on another Desktop (or Space as they are called).

    3. If you are running at least MD2021.1 then you can install the Toolbox extension, set advanced mode, then use the reset window positions option. This option will keep your other preferences.

A somewhat similar looking problem on the Mac is having an Invisible window. This can be dealt with as indicated below.

The situation is that you cannot find the window on a Mac yet when you show the window from the dock options show all windows you just see a magnified version of the traffic light from the upper left corner.

Yes, this is something that happens on a mac and TIK have yet to find a way around it. Basically the window is set to a tiny size and makes it really hard to find it. Once you find it, using alt+green button will make the window large enough to see. You *should* be able to bring the tiny window to the front by clicking on the traffic light in the show-all-windows. This is a frustrating bug, but unfortunately it seems to be out of Moneydance's control, and TIK have not been able to reproduce it to find a workaround.

You can also try minimizing every other window and see if you can find it, it seems that is often in one of the corners.

Or as Stuart said rename config.dict

I think in my particular case it was user error. I was trying to open
FILE>RECONCILE while I was in the summary window, once I was in a specific
account, the reconcile window opened as expected. What's weird is I'm NOT
a newby with this program, I've been using it probably 10+ years and have
never made this misstep before. I suspect the RECONCILE option was greyed
out in the summary window until later (or latest?) versions - it really
should be if it's not going to initiate an action.

For Information, as I have Moneydance 2017 and 2023 also installed I tried both and in neither case is the Reconcile option greyed out if you try running it from the Summary page.

Hi. Upgraded and Reconcile window now activates, however program has me on demo mode. I had a license key before I upgraded. Where do I find it now?
