Merging Categories
I was trying to find a way to merge transactions from two categories. It seems that there is no merge function, but in one discussion the suggestion was to use the find and replace function to move all transactions from one obsolete category into the one desired. then delete the old category that is not needed. Sounds good, but the find and replace extension has a problem. See the error message that I got when I tried to access the find and replace extension. Does this need a fix?

Have you ensured you are running the latest version of the extension?

Hello,
If the above suggestion doesn't help, please let us know the exact version of Moneydance you are running, and the version of the extension (from the extensions menu). There is another way to accomplish what you want, but it's more complicated, and I imagine you want the find and replace extension to be working for other future needs as well!

Yes, the extension needed an update. I don't check extension updates often so I'll have to keep up on this in the future. I'll try this extension first and get back to you if I would like the more complicated process.
