I cant find archive in Dell migrate
I worked with Dell migrate tech support to transfer files to from old dell to new. They first migrated my old files and I was able to work in my 2022 moneydancearchive file that transferred. I then had them migrate just my photos that didn't go so smoothly but did transfer. I cannot find my money dance files now and microsoft 11 home may be messing things up. My money dance files are empty. under C:user/administrator/moneydance/archive.. I can't find it under Dell either tho I might not be looking directly. I did allow Microsoft to update between the migration of my other than photos files and the transfer of photos which might have caused problems.
1) can you help me retrieve archive or do I have to create another on old computer 2) how do I migrate just that archive from old to new computer

just a user,
Not that familiar with the W11 file setup, but I would think it would be unusual to find your MD files under C:user/administrator/moneydance/ I would look for them under C:\users/username.moneydance (note the period before moneydance

Very confusing but microsoft win 11 installed version 2024 which I didn't
buy. So uninstalled it, reloaded 2022 version and found my file no
problem and am in my moneydance.
I could brain microsoft (euphemism) . But this may be useful info for you
since it was as frustrating as could be and someone else might have same
problem. Have them check what microsoft forced on them
Happy holidays

Hello,
The default file location in newer versions of Windows is:
C:\Users<username>.moneydance\Documents
And in older versions is:
C:\Documents and Settings<username>.moneydance\Documents
The previous post is correct in that your data file should be called something like yourfilename.moneydance , and will often display as a folder in Windows. If you can't find it in the default locations, you may have been saving your data to a custom location. If you can't remember where, try searching for all files and folders that end with the .moneydance file extension. When you find them, copy them over to your new computer, place them where you want to store them safely, and use the open other option from the Moneydance welcome screen or the menu bar (File -> Open -> Open Other) to select your yourfilename.moneydance data set.
