I think I need to reinstall Moneydance
I had been using the trial version of Moneydance for a couple of weeks and I had about 95 transactions left to use. I went in today and the transaction count was gone and I wasn't able to enter any transactions. I figured something had happened and I was planning to buy Moneydance anyway so I purchased it. I then entered the key and I still can't enter any transactions. I have also been having some issues with my computer where support has been making some "changes" which I suspect may have messed up Moneydance. So, I want to uninstall it and reinstall it but not lose any data that I've imported in. Is it as simple as uninstall/reinstall? I'm running Windows 11. Thanks

If you uninstall Microsoft Word, you don't lose your word files. The same is true for Moneydance - the program does not contain the files you create.
That said, if you key isn't working, uninstalling/reinstalling will do nothing to change that. Might be better to try to figure out why the key isn't working. Did you use Help/Register Moneydance to enter the license key? Did you copy/paste it, or enter it by hand (then you might have made a typo)

License keys are also version specific. If you purchase Moneydance today you get a Moneydance 2024 key, this key will not work on any older version.

Thanks for the replies. After some additional research I discovered it was user error! It now works correctly but I still have a lot of learning to do.

Moneydance is the sort of software that there is always something new to learn or a different way of doing something.

I like what I've seen so far. I just need to lose all the Quicken I know from many years of use.

Yes, that can be a problem, while there are some similarities, Quicken is known for not following accounting rules and taking questionable shortcuts.
