Initial sync freezes with new installation

I share a Moneydance file with several household computers, iPads, and iPhones, syncing using the Dropbox Connection. This has worked generally very well for years. Today I replaced one of my Macs with a new M4 model and installed Moneydance. After over 18 hours, the "Performing initial sync. This may take a while..." window remains at about 30% complete. I can no longer see any visible progress. I have tried deleting and reinstalling several times with the same result.
Moneydance DOES still sync properly between my other devices.
Can you help me figure out why I can't get this new installation to sync?
Thank you,
Steve

How good is your network? Also, Dropbox Folder might be a better alternative than Dropbox Connect. Dropbox connection can fail a connect and then sit idle for some time.

I moved my spouse's computer for exactly this reason (Connection to Folder) as she would say "is our networth the same?" (a verification check) and I'd say no, and she'd say, why isn't this updating!!!

My network is excellent both internal and internet. All other computers and mobiles sync fine.
I am running a new Mac Mini M4 with Sequoia.
I tried again last night and it has completely froze.

I switched to Dropbox Folder method, and it worked. Thanks for the suggestion, dtd.
