New MD+ user -- annoyed by junk in memo field on downloads
Hi wonderful Infinite Kind team, how about fixing the download code in the system so nothing downloads into the memo field?

First, a lot of people do want to see that "junk" as you call it, so you are suggesting a "fix" for yourself that might be considered a problem for others.
That said, if you have placed Toolbox into your extension list, you will note a sub-extension called Toolbox: Zap md+/ofx/qif (default) memo fields which has plenty of options on how to treat the default memo fields that are created within the multiple download types.
If you set this up, also note that undo is available, as during setup of this extension, you can inadvertently delete memos you wanted to keep (doing a backup also never hurts). Once you set up the options to your specifications you can delete the "junk" as you call it whenever you wish to do so.
I run my "zap" configuration about once a week (or so).

Okay, fair point! I just wish there were a setting in MD for what fields to download. Maybe a future upgrade.
I’ve found I can also use batch change to blank out the memo field; and I’ll try the below as well.

Whether it is really junk or nor depends on the institution, some seem to swap memo and description too.
A global setting would probably not be desirable, and typically for downloads Moneydance does not have settings on an account by account basis.
Using Toolbox is probably the best option.
