I shut down my Imac for a few days and when I attempted to start MD, I was unable to access the archive to which I had saved MD. This is an extension of the failure to continue the "save as" function and has meant that I have lost three months of data. Archiving was a needless procedure and now I am unable to use MD...not pleased at all!!

    Hello,

Can you please describe in more detail what you mean by being unable to access the archive you created? Is the file not where you think it should be, are you receiving any error messages when you try to open it in Moneydance, etc.? Can you still open your main data file, and is the data still in that file?

    Hello,

The easiest thing to do would be to simply make a copy of your yourfilename.moneydance data file in your file browser as you would do with any other file, which if it is saved in the default save location you can quickly find by going to Help -> Show Documents Folder from the menu bar.

Using the archive option workaround as you describe can work if you don't have complex investment history in your file, but I generally haven't been recommending it for this reason.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance,
