Can't select some online bank accounts for some Moneydance account types
Depending on the type of Moneydance account that I am setting up for online downloading, I am presented with different subsets of my online bank accounts to associate with the Moneydance account, and some bank accounts are not presented as options for some accounts.
Here's the problem (working with USAA Federal Savings Bank):
I have my Home Equity Line of Credit configured as a Credit Card
account as instructed in Moneydance support. When I set it up for
online downloads, the "choose the account you wish to use" dialogue
only lists the credit card account that I have at my bank, not the
Home Equity account. But when I configure my Checking and Savings
accounts for online downloads, the dialogue box lists my Home
Equity account held at the bank (along with my checking and savings
accounts). So there's no way for me to associate my Moneydance home
equity account with my online home equity account because it's
configured as a Moneydance credit card account.
Similarly, I have a Money Market account configured in Moneydance as a Checking account. If I try to associate it with the online account (held at USAA Investment Management Co.), the account held at the bank is not presented as an option. But I do see the money market account held at the bank when I configure my Moneydance Investment accounts for online access.
So to summarize, accounts that I have at the bank are not visible (and available to link up for online access) depending on the type of Moneydance account I am configuring for online access. This makes it impossible to configure some accounts for online access, even though I configured the accounts as the proper Moneydance account type (i.e., Home Equity LOC configured as a Moneydance credit card account). What should I do?

I am having the exact same problem trying to configure a USAA Fed SB Home Equity Line of Credit. I also have it set up as a credit card, as I was advised to do this by USAA when I was directly downloading transactions thru Quicken. Should it be set up differently using MD?

First off, if you are not using the most recent version (2010r3 build 748), please update to that version. You can download the update here. This update has resolved a few key issues our users have been experiencing, especially when dealing with HELOCs.
The money market account should certainly be set as an investment account, this should make it possible for you to set up online banking with it. If you continue to have problems with the HELOC after upgrading to build 748, please let me know and we'll look into other options.
Please let me know if I can be of further assistance,

My versions:
Version 2010r3 (748)
Java Version: 1.6.0_19
Windows XP
(would be nice if the form required this info when we first submit an issue)
Please clarify if the money market needs to be set up as an Investment or a Checking account. It came over from Quicken as a Checking account, which makes sense since it's used for check writing.
And the HELOC account is configured as a Credit Card account. Is that correct?
Thanks.

It all depends on the account type that your financial institution is reporting with the OFX header.
I you think that a Moneydance market account would be a bank account and if your institution is reporting it as an investment account that is what you will have to connect it to in Moneydance
HELOC is most often reported as a credit card type. And that almost always is the correct type to use with Moneydance.
