A few weeks ago my Windows 10 system crashed and the hard drive was damaged. A data restoration firm has been able to recover the data from the drive and now I'm trying to restore MD back to where it was at the time of the crash. Can you walk me through how to do this? Not sure whether to Import or Restore From Backup. Should I give my newly restored data file a new name or keep the old one? All advice most welcome.

  1. Restoring from a Backup

Moneydance backups are essentially 'saves' of your entire data set, at the time the backup file was created or modified.

You'll find the steps for creating manual backup files, or enabling automatic backup files here.

    Locate a Backup

To restore from a backup file, you should first locate a .moneydancearchive file on your computer.

You can easily access your automatic backup files from within Money...
