Changing the security in an investment transaction does not remove security history price
I added a dividend reinvestment transaction to an investment, complete with shares, amount, and price. Moneydance (correctly) added an entry to that security's history with the date and price of the security.
I discovered that I had used the wrong security. When I changed the transaction to use the correct security, I noticed that the history on the original (wrong) security still had an entry for the date/price of the original security.
My expectation is that the history entry would have been deleted from the wrong security, since it would not have accurately reflected the price of that security.
Of note, when I changed the transaction to use the correct security, Moneydance did in fact add the price to the new (correct) security history.

There is no link to the transaction in the way you are expecting.
When you enter a transaction, the price is added to the security price list, but it is not linked to that transaction it is a one way action used to populate the list, so if the transaction is done in error you will need to manually remove the price from the history.
