Attachments not copied from one machine to another
I have been using 'Moneydance' for over 10 years. I have a lot of data going back to 1992 (Quicken for Windows 3.1 that could not import from Quicken for DOS, so I lost data). I have used up to three computers and one Android phone at the same time, all have synced fine even 'attachments' 'android does not get these' - I have always used 'DropBox Connection' The main system I use is Linux Ubuntu. I have two traveling laptops, one for myself and one for my wife, both running Windows. A few months ago I put Linux Mint on my laptop and tried to sync - had a ton of problems (24 hours later still not completed) I found a lot of syncing problems in DropBox. I have a ton of backups, so I started the main system and recovered from a backup file. I removed all traces of all files on the laptop. I erased all DropBox data related to 'Moneydance' I then synced the main system back to 'DropBox'. I then synced the Android phone to the new data, this went smooth. I started 'Moneydance' on the laptop and Used the date to import a new sync. Only took maybe a minute this time. Everything appeared good, but the file attachments were not there.I have never turned 'on' the other Windows machine, but even if I had, the files were all replaced with new versions and it would not sync.
It has been a month and all works well but the file attachment syncing. The files attached on that system are seen locally only, files attached by the other system are not. This happened for a short time previous, but I recall with-in a couple of days it fixed itself. This time it is not.
Attached are two screen shots of the two attachments - one is attached from this machine and it can be seen, the other came from the other machine and cannot be opened.
Anyone have any ideas to try or have seen this and a good solution. Thank you in advance.

10 years might be a clue. The sync data can get ‘screwed’ (when old). I would do this.
Backup
Disable sync everywhere.
Blow away all other copies.
Blow away Dropbox related data.
On main system launch toolbox. Use force reset sync settings.
Install Dropbox client on all computers, make sure it’s logged in and syncing ok.
Enable sync. Dropbox connection.
On Mint in MD. File new/open/sync copy. Make sure you select the new Dropbox sync folder (not the old one that might be there).
Check attachments sync’d ok.

Hello Stuart,
I agree about the 10 years for a sync. I had already done all of that when I had a problem syncing in the first place. I deleted all in DropBox (made sure all devices the folder was removed and did not show up on any longer) - Did all but 'force reset sync settings' - Found in 'Toolbox' after searching when you suggested it.
I thank you for replying making me take another look. I may have found the answer after another two hours. It seems to be 'DropBox' itself and the amount of data still syncing on the laptop side. After scanning the .moneydance folder in 'DropBox' I seen it updating and looked at the last file it synced, it was a pdf from a flight, which had a date in the name. I looked up that transaction and was able to see it fine with the attachment.
From what I see is that 'DropBox Connect' may do the structure? As the attachments are taking weeks to get to the laptop. Granted this is not on 'Full Power' all the time - I also checked the amount of files and the size of .moneydance - both are the same but one file count different.
Currently I will not reset sync, as I think it may be the amount of data I have in the structure. I will leave the laptop update.
I will post back and update as 'Resolved' if this actually comes to a close. I'll give DropBox another kick by scanning the file structure. And how it was resolved.

Share the help/show console logs for each device.
I would still switch to Dropbox folders. In some circumstances it performs much better.
Run toolbox analyse dataset and objects and upload that output here.
