Adding notes to reports
I want to create a report of account balances, but want to add notes to individual entries (its already there as a column title, but not accessible for editing). Why? Is this possible and if not why not?

I am afraid this is not available in Moneydance. The notes field in the account balances report is used for automatically generated notes such as the long form currency of the account and if the account holds securities it shows the number of securities held and at what price.

Thanks for the quick reply, but disappointed that the notes field is not
editable. Surely it would be better for reports if you could add
material in this area . . .

Hi Peter,
I've added a feature request ticket to this conversation requesting the ability to add notation to reports.
One thing you could do now if you are wanting to share a given report and give it notation is to copy the report into a spreadsheet program and then make edits and notations where you would like.
Please let us know if you have any more questions.
Sincerely,
