From the problem statement I am assuming this is when you are opening Moneydance or the dataset.
A one way encryption algorithm is used, there is no way to look it up, it is effectively checking the password and saying it is wrong.
It would not be a very secure system if it allowed you to look up the password, anyone could open the data if you could.
There is no way of retrieving a forgotten password for a dataset, it would be a security flaw if there was.

There is no way for me to sign in. It comes up with my file name and when I click on the name it gives the error. I cannot see what it uses as my password. Am I missing something? It has automatically signed on for the past year

I need someone to look at this. The system does not allow me to enter a password nor see the password is attempting to look at how do I get into this?
