All of the sudden, my MD app won't open.

I just see this. (See screenshot).

Please help. What's happening. Just when the app started working well again!

    Hi tnpauly

I am an Alpha Tester. I was running 20260413. It updated to 20260517. I then had the same screen as you posted.

I uninstall/reinstalled the app and on opening I got the Moneydance symbol, no message. However if I closed the app and also the app running in the background, on opening it again it opened on the Authentication screen, see screen shots, also see setting screen. However if I set Pin Lock to off it screwed up again and I had to start over. This reported to Sean the Moneydance developer.

So provided you don’t set Pin Lock to off it should work, syncing seems OK.

    Hope this helps.

I have the same issue. With pin lock "off" as I have it, I can find no way to proceed. Uninstalling, deleting cache or data, etc makes no difference. Unable to get to any settings screen or open the app.

    Hi

Reported your issue to Sean the Moneydance developer and he states “yep, sorry. I just found the cause of this and am pushing a fix”

    Hi

I am now running Alpha build 20260519.

On my Android 19 so far it all seems to work.

On my Android 11 it works OK when initially installed, that is with Pin Lock off. If I set Pin Lock on then I just get the Unlocking Moneydance message. I have to uninstall and reinstall and remember to leave Pin Lock off.

What version of Android do you have?

No I don't use the pin lock, happy with that off and just using phone lock security

    Hi Chris

    Thanks for the info.
It would have been interesting to know if Pin Lock worked on Android 16.
Be warned if it does not you may have to uninstall and reinstall the app.
If you decided to test let me know the results.

    Thanks.

I was having the same problem with the beta version of the Android app, hanging on the "Unlocking Moneydance" splash screen.

A new version installed today so I had high hopes of a fix, but still the same issue, which I reported to the developer via the Play store comments.

Then I thought to come here and found this thread. I uninstalled the app, reinstalled the current beta, and synced with Dropbox - and all is working again. Based on comments here I left PIN Lock in the off setting.
