Problem opening root.mdinternal - Error: java.security.NoSuchAlgorithmException: AES SecretKeyFactory not available

Had a hard drive crash. After re-installing Moneydance could not find my latest.md file, but found what appears to be an internal copy in ./moneydance/Documents/2013.moneydance

According to this document, http://help.infinitekind.com/kb/moneydance-2012/how-to-access-internal-backup-files-in-moneydance-2012, I thought I thought I be able to open a root.mdinternal file.

The error I am getting is:
Error: java.security.NoSuchAlgorithmException: AES SecretKeyFactory not available

After doing some google searches it seemed as if it may be related to Java 7 so I tried on a Mac (which seems to have Java 6 installed) and got the same error. Any ideas how I can open the file?

    Hi Francisco,

It sounds like your data set is encrypted, but that you might have installed an old version of Moneydance to open it. Can you send us the output of your console log? This can be found by going to Help -> Console window in Moneydance, then clicking the "Copy to clipboard" button and pasting the output to us here.

Thanks. That hint was enough to solve the problem. As I mentioned, my
machine had crashed. I had a backup ~/Moneydance folder, which I
thought was the program I was using. I must have installed a newer
version in a different location in the old machine.

Downloaded latest version and now I can access my data again. Thanks!
