Combine Criteria: Or doesn't work?

I have a payee name that for various reasons sometimes appears in the Description field and sometimes appears in the Memo field. If I do a simple search from the Home screen on this name, I see all transactions, but they are not totaled and I can't to anything with them.
If I use either Transaction Filter or Advanced Search, check and enter the name in both Description and Memo, select "Combine Criteria: Or", and leave all other boxes unchecked, I should get the same list of transactions, if I remember my Boolean logic correctly. However, I get only the transactions that have the name in the Memo field. If I want the ones with the name in the Description field, I have to search for these separately.

Hi Douglas,
Have you tried the Find and Replace extension? It's pretty robust.
Try entering the payee name into the 'Free Text' field.
Select the 'Description' and 'Memo' check boxes.
Click 'Find'.
