Re-downloading old reconciled transactions
Monydance just re-downloaded all of my previously reconciled transactions going back to Feb. I did nothing different than I have been. I would hate to go back to Quicken but this is unacceptable.

Brian,
This is unusual behavior. Did anything special happen around this time (new computer, changes to your bank account, etc)? Are you using the direct connect feature, or downloaded and importing files from your bank? I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you and look forward to diagnosing and resolving this issue for you.

Angie,
Thanks for the reply.
Yes I use the Direct Connect, and there was nothing new or changed on
my end of the transaction. It also only happened on one of the three
accounts that I have setup, all from the same bank (JP Morgan Chase).
I just downloaded my latest transactions on all three accounts without
incident, so I am hoping that this was just an isolated glitch or
maybe something on Chase's end.
I will hang on to this email and let you know if this happens again.
Thanks,
Brian Frink

Hate to tell you, but I'm having the same problem with Quicken and my BOA accounts.
So switching software may or may not fix the problem.

Transactions that are downloaded using direction OFX connections each have a unique ID field. This unique is set on each transaction by the bank. When Moneydance downloads transactions it compares the ID on each one with the IDs of the transactions in the register. If there is a match Moneydance will not add the transaction to the register as that would be a duplicate. We have had report that once in a while a bank may change the historical unique IDs on transactions you have already downloaded. We are not sure why they would do this. Perhaps they do it when they have a problem with their system and need to restore from a backup. Either way when it happens the transactions look to Moneydance like new transactions and will import them. This is usually a isolated problem. I am sorry for the trouble it has caused you.
Sincerely
