Weird Behavior Suddenly

I'm on OS X 10.5.7 and a glitch has shown up as as last night. I opened MoneyDance and then the window disappeared, although I could see MoneyDance was still running.

After restarting MoneyDance, I then had a cosmetic issue, and the window disappeared intermittently. I tried MoneyDance from another user account and the cosmetic defect is gone. Back to my regular account, I deleted the com.moneydance.Moneydance.plist file. When I restart MoneyDance, it is not recreating the preference file.

The cosmetic issue persists today and I have attached a screen capture. Any ideas on these problems??

I do have the very latest MoneyDance installed. 2008r3 629 and Apple Java 1.5.0_16

Thanks, John

    Hi John

I am terribly sorry I have taken such an unreasonably long time to respond to your posting. Things have been a little hectic on this forum since Microsoft anounced they are no longer supporting or selling MS Money.

From the screen shot given I believe the cosmetic defect you are describing is in fact the net worth graph. You can turn this off by selecting "Hide Status Graph" from the View menu. Please let me know if I am misunderstanding the cosmetic issue.

With regards to the strange behaviour of the window disappearing intermittently, I have not experienced such problem and have not heard any reports of others experiencing this. If the disappearing problem happens again I suggest that you completely reinstall Moneydance.

    Sincerely

    Ben Spencer

    Hi Ben -

I did discover what that the cosmetic issue could be hidden by disabling net worth graph. The window disappearing has not reoccurred.

The problem (cosmetic) only occurs in my "normal" user account. so it is somehow related to something there, not system-wide. I was never able to figure what file is the culprit. I did suspect a preference issue but that is not causing the problem. I have replaced the MoneyWorks app but no difference.

As long as the window issue does not return, I am OK.

    Thanks, John
