I currently use MS Money but with the announcement that they will no longer support it I am look for an alternative. I installed the trial version of MoneyDance and have been trying to setup online banking with M&T Bank but having limited success. I entered my current credentials but when I try to download transactions I receive and error 2003. Searching the forums I found reference to error 2000 but not 2003. I was however able to update my PIN which I verified by attempting to update my account in MS Money and it failed because of a credential error, updated the PIN in Money to what I set it to in MoneyDance and it worked. So I do have some connectivity. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is kind of a deal breaker for me.

Also, while I have your ear, I am not sure what will happen to MSN Bill Pay but is there a chance that support for MSN Bill Pay will be added? I used to have a CheckFree account so switching wouldn't be any great hardship.

Cheers,

Jim

    Jim,

I am not sure we can support MSN Bill Pay. However, I can research that further if you wish. We do support Check Free.

I have checked and we are not having connectivity issues with M&T Bank. I am not certain I have understood your comments correctly. Are you saying that you used login information that works correctly in MSM but in Moneydance it does not? If that is the case, let me know, and we will discover what the issue may be.

    Sincerely,

Sorry for the confusion, it had been a long time since I had set the credentials in MSM so I wasn't quite sure what they were. I also wanted to eliminate bad credentials as the cause of my problem. I was able to modify the credentials from MoneyDance that I use to connect to M&T which indicates that I have some level of connectivity; however, when I try to download transactions it fails with the 2003 server error.

Support for MSN Bill Pay is unimportant. I switched to it because MSM supported it but if I decide to switch to MoneyDance it should be easy enough to switch back to CheckFree.

    Cheers,

    Jim

    Jim,

I apologize that this inquiry was overlooked. Were you able to establish your connection with your bank? It does seem to be working on our end. Error 2003 refers to "account not found". So you should verify with your bank your routing and account numbers (which can sometimes vary when making online connections).

Please let me know if you need additional support and again, I sincerely apologize that your inquiry was overlooked until now.

    Brian

Thanks for the help. I called the bank and they said that I was not enabled for Quicken only MS Money. They were able to enable me while I was on the phone. Afterward I tried again but received the same error. I downloaded a trial version of Quicken 2008 and was able to connect. Looking at the account properties the routing code in Quicken was different then the one that I was using so I updated Money Dance with the new routing code and was able to connect. Not sure if all I needed was the correct routing code or if it was a combination of getting enabled for Quicken and the correct routing code. Either way thanks again for your help. This issue has been resolved.

    Cheers,

    Jim
