Frustrating! After downloading transactions, the unconfirmed transactions all have the 'blue dot'. If I change the category and then confirm the transaction (Cmd - Enter), the category reverts back to the suggested category and I have to do it all over again. If I confirm the transaction as is, first, then edit the category, it sticks but this takes much more time to accomplish.

If I change the category, accept the changes by pressing Enter, then confirm the transaction using Cmd-Enter, shouldn't it stick?

When you click on an unconfirmed transaction the accept dialogue appears at the bottom of the screen. If you don't want the transaction to be modified ensure that you select the ORIGINAL option.

If you are accepting the transaction with the CATEGORIZE option the transaction will have the description and category changed to the option selected.

Thanks Ben. I have another issue that I cannot find an answer to, even
after searching through the Moneydance forums.

I understand that I can record a transfer of funds between two checking
accounts, but in 2010, is it possible to initiate the transfer of funds
through the bank? I had entered a new transaction and used [Trn] in the
Check # field and the name of the receiving account in the Category. That
was 5 days ago and the transaction hasn't shown up in my online bank records
which leads me to believe the bank never received instructions to transfer
    money between accounts.

    How do I accomplish this?

    Hi Terry

I am afraid that Moneydance does not currently support the initiation of transfer of funds at the bank. It only allows you to record that a transfer has occurred in the Moneydance register. We hope to get this feature implemented in MD2011 and I cannot make any promises to that effect.

I am sorry if this does not meet your needs.

    Sincerely
    Ben Spencer
