uber confusing investment account

I used to use MS Money to manage all my financial accounts. I switched over to Moneydance and have gotten most of my accounts up and working, at long last. I still can't get even close to correct balances with my Schwab investing account, though. I have an IRA and a Schwab "bank sweep" account with a small amount of cash waiting to be invested. I've tried lots of different ways to synchronize the registers from Schwab.com and my other accounts that I transfer money from and I just don't seem to understand how this works.

There is a "Schwab" account that shows my securities, albeit with wildly inaccurate balances; but also a "Charles Schwab I contributions" account that seems to have the deposits in it. How these two accounts feed in to each other is beyond my comprehension, apparently.

What I'd really like to do at this point is just start over! I'm really about ready to give up as it just seems way too complicated. Does anyone have any words of advice?

    Hi,

I'm sorry you're having trouble migrating your accounts. It is a confusing process, so we've written a guide to help users make the jump. You can find the guide on our website at http://help.infinitekind.com/faqs/frequently-asked-questions-2/movi.... This is a non-trivial and sometimes error-prone process, as there are limitations with the way MS Money exports qif files. If a simpler process becomes available, we will certainly let our customers know.

It would probably be easiest if you started from scratch and followed our guide for migrating. if you still have trouble, let us know and we'll do our best to help you out.
