Split dialog broken?

I'm on Moneydance 2010r3 (751).

If I bring up the split dialog by pressing CTRL-L and enter my splits, after pressing 'done' all changes are lost.

If I add a split by choosing 'split' from the categories dialog, I don't have this problem.

    Agedeboer,

I have not been able to re-create this issue. Would you please let me know what OS and version of Java you are running?

Thank you for your assistance in diagnosing this issue,

Dear Angie, thanks for taking the time to have a look at this problem.

My java version: 1.6.0_18 (according to Moneydance)
And I'm running Windows XP with every available recommended update installed.

This morning I tried it again and to my surprise things seemed to work, initially. I'll describe what I did.
I selected the transaction that I want to split. Pressed the CTRL-L keys and nothing happened, no split window came up. This may be how it's supposed to work.
Than I double clicked the transaction to start editing it. Again I pressed the CTRL-L key, and this time the window came up as expected.
I entered my splits and pressed done - they were recorded nicely. 'Shoot', it now seems to work.

But then I tried again: selected the transaction (not double-clicking it), pressed the CTRL-L key combination, and now the window popped up immediately, which suprised me.
I edited my splits, pressed done, and then: nothing is recorded. Although, if you bring up the split window again it will still contain the splits as I edited them, but they're not recorded in the transaction - perhaps they're only in memory.

So my guess is now, although perhaps I should leave the guessing to you, that the system ends up in a state where the split transaction window can be brought up when the transaction is not actually in 'edit' mode - if such mode exists?

Anyway, I hope this gives you plenty of information, and it tells me that I should bring the transaction into edit mode before I bring up the window.

    Cheers,
    Age

You must double click a transaction to put it in edit mode before pressing ctrl-L to bring up the split window. If not you will get the split window for the last transaction that was put in edit mode. I have created a bug ticket for this problem. Here is the link to the ticket.
