MD indicates my bank has locked my account from downloading...
I tried to download transactions from my bank. I entered the correct password, yet MD stated the bank had locked my account. I went to the bank's web site and sure enough my account was locked. I contacted the bank, they unlocked my account, yet MD will NOT allow me to download any transactions still indicating the bank has the account locked. It does not because I can log onto their web site with no problem. So does MD have a time locked account code in place and if so when will it release so I can download my transactions? If this is not the case, do you have any other suggestions?
Note: I have closed and reopened the program and still get the same message.
Thanks ahead of time for your assistance--Ron B

Ron,
Most financial institutions will require you to enable your accounts for application-based online banking. You can accomplish this by asking your bank to set up your account for connections from Quicken. Moneydance uses exactly the same OFX server connection protocol as Quicken but your bank representative may not know this and mistakenly believe that they do not support Moneydance. Calling up your bank and stating precisely the following should get you started. "Please enable direct connect on my account such that I can connect to your servers directly with Quicken. Also give me the login credentials I need to connect Quicken to this service."
Application-based online banking often requires a different login/PIN than the ones that are used for ATM or web-based banking. When you enable your account for access from Moneydance or Quicken, your financial institution should let you know what customer ID/login and PIN to use.
Please let me know if I can be of further assistance, and thanks for your interest in Moneydance!

Angie,
Thank for getting back to me on this. Sorry it has taken me a couple of days to respond, but I was waiting for a phone call back from my bank. Here is what they said:
They no longer offer direct connect downloads. They have changed their system to WEB connect only. Though I can download the data as a QFX (Quicken extension) I cannot download it as an OFX extension. Not certain if this is really an issue as much as the fact that I can no longer get a direct connection.
The bank informed me that I would then need to import the file into MD. I have not tried this and will not until I hear back from you.
Again, thank you for any direction you can give me.
Respectfully,
Ron Burchett

Hi Ron
If the bank had disabled direct connect then the only way to get the data into Moneydance is to manually log into your banks website and download the QFX file. The QFX file can be imported into Moneydance in just the same way as an OFX file. Download the file and then run Moneydance. Select File->Import->OFX.
Sincerely

Ben,
Thanks. I did not have a problem importing the document in MD. Though I would prefer direct, this went real fast. And Quicken is not an option for me!
