Do you get any error messages displayed?

Can you please look in the Moneydance user folder and post the contents of the errlog.txt file to this discussion. To get to this folder:

    Go to Finder

Press command-shift-G to bring up the Go To Folder dialogue box.

    Enter "~/.moneydance" without the quotes.

Ben, I discovered the problem. Apparently the downloaded file was corrupt and it didn't actually install but just ran. Of course after shutting down the program was no longer running nor was it installed. After three tries I got a good download and got it successfully installed. For some reason the file extension was missing from my last four back ups but not from a file from 2007. Once I realized this and added the .md to the file name it opened and appears to be working normally as far as I can determine thus far. Thanks for getting back to me.
    Respectfully

The backup files deliberately do not end with the .md extension. This is to prevent a user for inadvertently opening an old file and loosing date. The correct procedure to open a backup file is to add the extension.

I am glad you were able to resolve the problem. I am sorry I was not more help.

    Sincerely
    Ben Spencer
