Investment accounts a mess Support is basically useless
I have two accounts at Fidelity. Right I can not download data/tranaction from both accounts.
Each account has its own account number but I have only one id password etc. Qucken handles this fine.
In moneydance it does not work I get the one account. Help file says
you can specify that one account is a sub account of another one.
Anyone want to me how in hell to do ??????????????
Anyway this is nonsense.
If I did not have Quicken and Qucken Essentials around this program would be basically useless and only cause
trouble.
The support using these forums is simply ridiculous

Hi Larry,
I have 3 seperate accounts @ Fidelity under 1 username and 1 password. I download all 3 accounts transactions through Moneydance without issue. So this option IS possible in MD.
The way I understand it is investment acccounts can NOT be made into sub-accounts so forget about that.
Make sure you have a recent backup.
The problem may be with your original connection to Fidelity. Have you tried to 'Refresh' or 'Disable' the connection for each of the two accounts?
Access each account, then from the Menu bar, click on 'Online'. then 'Set Up Online Banking' you should then be presented with a window with options to allow you to 'Refresh' or 'Disable' the online connection. Obviously, if you opt to 'Disable' the connection, you'll need to re-enable it.
There is a post here that describes an issue of the accounts not being properly 'mapped' specifically post number 6 from poster Oilcan.
http://help.infinitekind.com/discussions/problems/706-multiple-acco...
Read through it. It gives excellent advice on setting up your online connections
If all else fails, you may need to recreate your connection to Fidelity. There is a post here that gives step-by-step instruction on how to perform the proceedure. Specifically post number 11 from Moneydance Support Staffer Jessica Little.
http://help.infinitekind.com/discussions/questions/1240-online-bank...
Again make sure you have a recent backup before you attempt any of these proceedures.

Well I finally got it done it took some doing. This should not be okay
Anyway tried most but in end had to disable that account and set it up all again before I
got the dialogue asking me to choose the account etc with account numbers shown.
Once I had that a ton of transactions came down. Several tries to clean that mess up
( I started with account with correct balance is shares etc done by hand). Anyway
finally go tit down to where it was always downloading the latest 6 trans for 7/30.
These transactions were already in there an cleared etc. (can not remember but I must have done them by hand)
So in the end I had to actually go in and delete those transactions and keep the latest downloaded ones( must be hidden
data somewhere). That worked so that when downloading again I go zero new transactions.
The way this program is all this stuff needs to be cleared up fast. No way should a user be asking you guys
for help on these stuff. Just because in the end it works does not mean this needs to be done right.
Cross my fingers until next time which will be a month away before I get new trans in fidelity account

Larry,
Kevin is right that investment accounts cannot be sub-accounts. It seems like you have correctly mapped and set up your accounts for direct connection and worked out the issues with old transactions downloading. I understand that starting with a new personal finance program can be frustrating and difficult, and we are working to improve our program and our users' experience of it.
Please let me know if I can be of further assistance, and here's hoping that everything goes well next month.
