The "Do you want the application "Moneydance.app" to accept incoming traffic" pop up is being triggered by the Moneydance Updater extension when opening MD. I have it set to check for updates at start up. Firewall is set to allow Moneydance, doesn't help. If I disable the extension - no pop up at launch. MD 2008 r4 (640), Mac OS X 10.5.7. Not big deal, just puzzling.

You should say "yes" to this. If you instruct your firewall to always allow this connection, the message will stop appearing.

Yes, I know, I tried that, but it has no effect. Sorry, I left that out of my description of the problem. It is not caused by launching the MD app, it is the Updater Extension checking for updates at startup that is triggering it.

I believe that you need to allow the updater extension in addition to Moneydance to accept incoming traffic. It may be that it needs separate permission apart from Moneydance's permission.

I thought of that, but I don't know where the extension is stored to add it to the permitted list of the firewall. Is it a separate file, or is it embedded in the MD app when installed? I tried several searches to no avail.

Look in the Moneydance fails to load thread for a post by alannies on June 19, 2009 @ 11:01 AM that explains how to update the JavaApplicationStub. After this, go to your security settings and under the firewall remove the Moneydance application.

The next time you start Moneydance choose to accept and you should be good to go.
