Bug on Balance bottom right-hand side popup
Hi,
I have just upgraded from Moneydance 2015 1110 to 1175 which solves some bugs but seems to have introduced a new very annoying one:
If I click on the Balance (at the bottom of an account window), the first time the display is perfect. But from the second time, nothing is displayed (blank bubble). In fact, it seems that it keeps adding windows like on a stack because the shadow grows and become darker and darker.
The only way to reset this behaviour is to go to another account, click on Balance and then come back to the previous account.
Just in case it make any difference, I use the Linux version of Moneydance.
François.

Try the latest preview release. There have been a bunch of recent changes to the UI.

There are other bugs but at the moment 1196 is the latest and may solve this particular issue.

Not fixed in 1196 - I already tried it. To add to the original post, I see the described behavior if the Moneydance window is not maximized (so the balance popup appears below the main window). After the first click showing balance, the popup is empty.
But if Moneydance is maximized (or otherwise positioned so the balance popup has to appear over the corner of the main window), it does something even more strange: The first time I click, I see the expected popup with the balances. The second time, I see a slightly shorter popup with the balances. The third time, I see a still shorter popup which is empty. It repeats in groups of 3: balance, balance, empty. Very, very odd.

I haven't seen this on Mac OS X. My last guess is what version of java are you using? I think it uses system Java on linux and on Mac OS X it loads its own version. This could be the difference.
Otherwise, hopefully IK will respond here if they can duplicate it.

I use the Java version which part of the 64-bit tar.gz package.
java version "1.8.0_25"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_25-b17)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.25-b02, mixed mode)
I tried to replace the JRE with a freshly downloaded version
java version "1.8.0_45"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_45-b14)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.45-b02, mixed mode)
But the result is exactly the same. And I can also reproduce ljb's three-state behaviour when window is maximised. The good news is this seems is a reproducible bug!

I am using Java 1.8.0_40 (also known as 8u40), 32 bit. So it seems not to be caused by Java. However, we now have 2 people reproduce it on Linux and one does not on Mac OS X. Anyone able to try this on Windows?

I've tried it using build 1196 on windows 32 bit and have not been able to reproduce the problem, the size of the bubble changes a little at times but the balances are always being displayed
