Downloading second card data from same bank
I have two Citibank cards, an AAdvantage Mastercard (that I've had for years and downloads monthly into Moneydance with no problem, and a new AAdvantage American Expess card. I am unable to download monthly data from this card. It seems to be going fine almost to the end of the process, when the system stops with a message that basically says that Moneydance can't distinguish between the two cards and doesn't know where to put the data from the new card. I've checked the Account data, confirmed the card number, a different name, etc. and still can't make the download into Moneydance.

Chuck,
Could you please copy and paste the exact error message here? It would also be helpful for us to know the OS you are using, and the versions of Moneydance and Java you are running. This will assist us in diagnosing the issue.
Thank you for using Moneydance,

The error message reads as follows: "There was an error communicating with
your financial institution. The details of this behavior are below:
Unable to
determine account for payment list
In English,
this usually means Moneydance was unable to determine which"
That's the entire error message. It ends with the word "which." My
operating system is Windows 7, Version 6.1.7600 Build 7600.
I'm also using Moneydance 2010r2 (735) and Java Version 1.6.0_17.

Hi Chuck,
You've hit upon a small bug in Moneydance from an older version of Moneydance. The error window you received is too small to show the full error message, but it's not immediately obvious that there's more to the message. If you update to the latest build of Moneydance, you should be able to see the full error message. You can download the update from our website at http://moneydance.com/other. Once you've updated, can you please copy and paste the full error message here?

Hi Jessica Little:
Thanks for your advice. I've downloaded a few software programs in the past, but don't really know if the latest Moneydance build is a standalone, or whether it will automatically just change parts of the Moneydance software now on my C drive? If I download the latest build of Moneydance, does it update my current version, or download a whole new separate version? Will I lose any of my current nearly two years of data? Also, I hate to admit it, but I don't know how to copy the error message to send to you. Nothing happens if I right click it, and if I do a printscreen, I get my entire home page. How do you recommend I proceed. Thanks.
Chuck

The download is a standalone installation. Download it and replace the existing verion with the new version.
You data will remain intact and the new version will remember where your existing data file is when you run it.
Once you have the new version running press print screen and take a screen shot of the entire screen. Attach the entire screen shot to this discussion. If you only want to show part of the screen shot you can open the image fine in Pain and edit it.
Sincerely

Hi Chuck,
It is likely that this is a mapping issue. Your accounts are not mapped properly (in other words, one account is pointing to each of your Moneydance accounts).
To fix this, disable the Online Set-up for the problem accounts. Then you will need to re-enable them. Once you have entered your ID and Password click Ok and wait (do not click next). You need to see a window that will display - "Please choose the account you wish to you" - which are your accounts listed in a drop down list. If you bypass this window - your Moneydance Account will map to the first account on this list. Sometimes you will need to just wait for this window to pop-up as it can take several seconds.
If this does not resolve your issue, please let me know.
