Hi,

Ive opened Money Dance this morning and its showing completely different numbers to yesterday and my balances are all wrong. How can i revert to a previous saved version to back track and get back to a correct version?

    Hi Leo,
The easiest way would be to open your most recent backup data file. Moneydance by default creates it's backup data files in the same folder as the main data file.
The backup file will have it's creation date appended to its .md extention. For example, if your main data file was named Moneydance.md, your backup data file created on Sept 15, 2010 would be named Moneydance.md-2010-09-15
You can either navigate to the folder where your data files reside and click on the one you want to access or you can open Moneydance > File > Open... this will open a window that should point to your Moneydance data files, make sure the 'Files of Type' drop down list is set to 'All Files'. Select the data file you want to access.

    Leo,

Kevin's advice is excellent. To open one of your backup files you will need to change the file extension to .md- so a backup filed named Moneydance.md-2010-09-15 should be re-named Moneydance.md in order to be opened by the program.

Good luck clearing up your data, and please let me know if I can be of further assistance,
