Hi Russell,
Are you trying to open your *yourfilename*.md data set? If so, can you try going to File -> Import or selecting the Import section on the Welcome screen and see if you can open your data set that way?

Hi Scott,
This has been tried, but after clicking the .md file to import, Moneydance
doesn't do anything, the file isn't opened and Moneydance doesn't change
from the welcome screen.

Can you try using the open other option from the Moneydance welcome screen or the menu bar (File -> Open -> Open Other) to select your yourfilename.md data set? Sometimes this will work instead of the File -> Import option.

Can you send me your errlog.txt file? Try to open your file in the methods described above. Then, before relaunching Moneydance, find your errlog.txt file and send it as an attachment. If you're using Mac OS X, it should be located at one of these locations within your Home folder:
Library/Containers/com.infinitekind.MoneydanceOSX/Data/Library/Application Support/Moneydance/errlog.txt
or:
Library/Application Support/Moneydance/errlog.txt
If you have any trouble finding your Home Library folder, open Finder and select Go -> Go to Folder and type in:
~/Library
This should pull up your local Library folder.
If you're using Windows, it should be located at:
C:/Users/(yourusername)/.moneydance/errlog.txt
