    Hi Andy

    I am running Moneydance on ubuntu 9.04. and my prefered way of installing it is to download the version that does not include java. Here is the link:

    http://moneydance.com/download/2008/installers/Moneydance_linux_x86.tar.gz

    Once the file has downloaded extract it by right clicking on it and selecting "extract here"

    Then install the latest version of suns java run time environment using Synaptic package manager.

    Select System->Administration_>"Synaptic Package Manager"

    Enter your password

    Click the search button

    Enter "sun-java6-jre" without the quotes

    From the search results right click on sun-java6-jre and select "Mark For Installation"

    Click the"Apply" button at the top of the screen.

    Run Moneydance by double clicking on the icon that say Moneydance inside the folder that was extracted earlier.

    Sincerely

    Ben Spencer
