home page expenses
Hi,
When I click on a category in the expense bar I do not see all the transactions. Is there a limit on how many transactions can be displayed?
Thanks,
lex

Hi lex,
I can't confirm that there is any limit but 12 expense categories is the most that are displayed on my Home Page.

Oh not the expense categories themselves but the number of actual transactions the show once you click on a category.

Hi lex,
Again, I can't confirm a limit or not, but I clicked open a 'Food:Groceries' expense category for the last 365 days and there had to be upward of 80+ entries. So I don't think so.
What version of MD are you running?

Lex,
There shouldn't be a limit to the transactions which can be assigned to a particular category. Are you referring to the transactions you see when using the expenses bar on the homepage, or the register view of the category itself? (If you send me a screenshot that would be helpful.) I'm sorry for any inconvenience you've experienced, and look forward to helping to resolve this issue,

transactions you see when using the expenses bar on the homepage seem to be limited to some number. Is this the case?

Lex,
The transactions shown when using the expenses bar are limited to the date range selected (see attached screenshot). This does mean that there is a maximum of 365 days of transactions available through this interface. I hope this helps, and please let me know if I can be of further assistance,

Hi Angie,
Here is what I'm seeing. When I set the range to "This Year" and click
on the Food Out category on the Expenses Bar I only see transactions
starting from 9/15/2010 although I have Food Out transactions
everything month of the year. The list in the image continues to
November.
Thanks for your help,
lex

Hi lex,
I think the problem you're having stems from the txns prior to 09/15/2010 possibly having a slight variation of the 'Food Out' category.
Look to Tools > Edit Categories. See if there is more than one 'Food Out' category or maybe a 'Food' category with a 'Food Out' sub-category. Something to explain why all of the 'Food Out' txns are not showing up in the 'This Year' Expense Graph.
