Corrupt Database

I seem to have a corrupt database where an expense will show up in the category, but not in the checkbook. Is there anyway to fix the corruption as in Quickbooks "Verify Data" and "Rebuild Data"?

I don't think you are seeing a corrupt dataset. What you probably have is a transaction that is a transfer from one category to another category. Can you show me a screenshot of the transaction?

What happened was that I took a bunch of transactions and changed their category. When that happened, it deleted them from my checking account, but remained in the category. By example, if check 1000 was for 1 category and I changed that category in category view, then it deleted it from the checking account but remained in category view.

In Moneydance category means the other side of the transaction. E.g. if you enter a transactions in checking and select the savings account as the category you create a transfer from checking to savings. If you then look at the transaction in the savings account the category is the other side with is checking.

If you were then to change the category while in the savings account to checking2 that would change the transaction such that it was a transfer from checking2 to savings. The transaction would nolonger be in the original checking account.

This is what has happened in your case. If you enter a transaction from checking and set the category to the expense account "Groceries" you have entered a transfer from checking to groceries. If you were to then go into the expense account "Groceries" you would see that the category from this perspective is the checking account. If you change the category here to "Household" you would move the other side of the transaction from checking to "Household" and you would now have a transfer from "Groceries" to "Household".
