Categorizing Downloaded Transactions Ignores Tags

As seen in the attachments, the tags are ignored when accepting a downloaded transaction. If this is by design, you should reconsider it, since tags can be very important when categorizing personal versus business transactions.

   In my use it is 80% that the initially assigned Tag will be used for similar transactions so it will save me time entering data, and improve my accuracy to reverse this decision so Tags are assigned to Downloads. How Moneydance does it can make a difference. I suggest the assignment be the last used Tag for that vendor.

   The real trick will be getting it done in splits.

   +1 for this feature. I would also like to see tags automatically populate or, at least, add a drop-down (similar to category) to the confirm/merge sidebar so that I can specify a tag at that time (rather than accepting a transaction and then editing it). Ditto for the ability to enter a memo at the time of confirm/merge.

   Continuing the Memo thought, is it possible to add a memo to a split line?

   No, split transactions do not allow a memo on each split line. They do however allow a description of each split line.

   Hi. I am trying to get MoneyDance to automatically populate the Category Tag when I have the same description memo repeated over and again. Is there a way to do this? It does not look the program remembers the description memo. It is becoming very tedious keving in the Category tag each time.

   Hi Michelle,
   Can you tell me are you having trouble with the category getting populated after the 'Description' box is populated or after the 'memo' box is. It should learn and be able to populate correctly for when the Description box is filled
