I have moved a money dance file from one Mac to another. Now ALL my account are either Bank or Credit Card. How do I change the account type from Bank to Loan or Liability ( Mortgage for example). I have attempted to edit the misplaced accounts. But the Edit choice does not give me the option to change the account type.

    Hi Jim

There is no simple effective way of changing an account type.

Can you tell me how you moved your dataset from one Mac to another? Did you export your data to a QIF file and then import it on the other computer or did you simply copy over the dataset and open it. Simply copying over the dataset should not have changed any of your account types.

    Ben,

Once again thanks for your help. Based on your reply to my initial question…I deleted the imported file and copied the original dataset. Things seem to be fine now.

    Thanks
