Installing 2007 (562) on new computer

I would like to install and upgrade to 2010 on a new computer. My problem is is that my valid key will not work for some reason when doing a new install. I use 2007 (562) and when I download the trial version of 2010 my key will not unlock (or allow me to pay for) a new installation.
