Printing Checks
When selecting to print checks "Checks Through Date" it does not
select the checks for that date. Initially i thought it only
exlcudes newly added checks for that date but it does not select
any {print} transactions for that date at all.
I had various checks with todays date, so I selected to print the
checks throught 01/25/2011 but got the attached popup.

Hi gerd,
Did you select (Print) from the 'Check #' field of the transaction (checks) that you wanted to print?
If you have a large numbert of checks to print you chould use the 'Batch Change' process to chage the 'Check #' field of those txns. (Make sure you have a recent backup of your data file before using Batch Change)
Don't be concearned about loosing the actual check # in the 'Check #' field, it will return after a prompt asking whether or not the correct checks printed.

Hi gerd,
After tinkering around with this I was able to reproduce this issue.
To resolve it I changed the 'Checks Through' date to 01/26/2011

Yes you can. Be a bit more forward with new patches or versions.
I am using Moneydance now for close to a year and have not seen any patches let alone an upgrade. Following the forum I have seen lots of errors being reported (I had reported several) but then nothing happens. And nobody knows if there is an upgrade coming and it does not appear that you have an upgrade schedule (like other companies rolling out a new version at given dates during the year). It just makes we wonder if this is another dead product like my MS Money. I would regret if it is.

Hi Gerd
I am sorry that you have been dissatisfied with the frequency of upgrades. I see that you made your purchase in June 2010 which was roughly around the time of the last stable release Md2010r3. 8 months is a rather unusually long gap between stable releases of Moneydance. There will certainly be a new stable release in the very near future.
Sincerely

Hi gerd,
Have you Installed the Moneydance Updater Extension? You can set it to notify you of the latest Stable or Preview releases.
The latest Preview release (currently Build 755) is available here:
http://moneydance.com/preview/755/
It's been my experience that the Preview versions are essentially the Stable version with bug fixes and maybe a new feature or two.
IMHO, product upgrade schedules make little sense. When bugs are fixed and new features are tested and verified only then should a new Stable version be released.
I don't know for how long that you were a MS Money user but again, in my opinion, MS Money 2004 was their best performing version. Subsequent, scheduled "upgrades?" did little more than lighten my wallet. As you are aware, if you wanted to continue to have online updates you were forced to abandon your current version and pony up.
Although the release date of the new version of Moneydance has yet to be anounced, according to this thread it's going to be a free upgrade for Moneydance 2010 users.

Thanks Kevin,
I was using MS Money for the longest time making my last jump from 2004 to 2007.
I have the updater installed but it keeps telling me that I have the latest version regardless if I select preview or stable version.
I checked your link to the 755 patch. Is there a document that lists what fixes are included?

Hi gerd,
I don't know of any available change log other than the one here but it only covers up to build 750.

Edit: Don't bother registering at that Wiki site, it's been decommisioned.
