Updates from multiple financial institutions now fails
Moneydance has been working very well for me. Starting today, however, I get a connection error with no real message except that the socket failed to connect. I've attached a file showing the popup message. I can't connect with any of my financial institutions. I get the same error in all cases. After this happened, I updated Moneydance from 751 to version 757, and the behavior is the same. It doesn't look at all like the error I get when I the institution fails to send me data. Is there anything I can do to get this working again?

It started working again so it may have been the sites I was downloading from. But the diagnostic of the connection was not helpful in determining the problem.

There is a good chance it was the bank but please do let us know if it happens again.

I'm frequently encountering a 404 error (not found) with T RowePrice. It seems to have started in the last few weeks. Usually always fails on start up of Moneydance but sometimes works ok when I just do an online update on a particular account.

Hi forslund,
I would suggest notifying your bank and seeing what's going on on their end. A 404 error means that the file isn't where Moneydance is looking for it and if it's working intermittently, then it should be something on their end.
Please let us know if it keeps happening and we'll look into it more, but right now it appears to be an issue with the bank.

Being a long time user of Moneydance, since 2002, if I might suggest:
Do not have Moneydance download transactions when the program first starts.
See the attached screenshot for optimal user Network Preferences.
Also, do not use the Root Account's Online > Download All Accounts option. I suggest that you go into each account individually, within Moneydance, and select Online > Download zzzzzz Transactions from the drop down menu.
