Quotes & Exchange Rates - build 72 - no current quotes or history
Hello - I cannot get the Quotes and Exchange Rates - build 72 - to work. The previous two exchanges did ge some current prices but I haven't been able to get prices since the new extention became available.
Using MD2010
OS = Vista
Base currency = CAD
Tryng to get quote on Canadian Mutual Fund - F0CAN070Y7.TO (yahoo)
or CA:EPL8422 (Google)
I put the symbol in the ticker column on the advanced screen of the extention. I've put it in with the "dot TO" and without it. The Stock Exchange column is set to the correct one = Toronto Stock Exchange
I have "Do not update" set for currency exchange rate and
historical prices. I have tried both Yahoo! UK and Yahoo! USA. I
get the same error = x Current Quote: (!). When I click on the
error a pop with the follow info presents itself:
Ticker Symbol: null History: user chose not to update Current
Quote: no data found
Thing is, ticker symbol is not null - it is populated. I go to the Tools --> Edit Securities section and it is there - even though I updated / inserted it through the Extention. However, just to be sure, I also changed it on the Extention and then updated through the Tools menu to the same result.
So, then I thought about just getting the price history. The Yahoo! finance pages don't have historical prices for this fund, so I found the Google symbol for the fund, chose Do Not Update on the current quote and chose Google for the Historical prices. I get a X:History error. When I click on it a pop shows that the Ticker symbol was not found and returned an error code of 404.
So - I'm at a loss. I'm a relatively new user to MD - November
of last year - so I'm wondering if I've missed anything.
In reading through the other posts, they seemed to be related to currency scenarios and that's not the case here. I'm hoping you can help.
Thank you.
Doug
