Printing problems on Mac

I'm running Moneydance on a Mac Mini with Snow Leopard. I have two wireless printers, a Brother 2170W laser printer (monochrome) and a Lexmark X6570 All-in-one inkjet (color). I usually have the Brother set as my default and Moneydance will print checks and reports to that printer - no problem. But when I want to print a report in color and try to send it to the Lexmark, it goes to the Brother anyway. I tried changing the print preferences in Moneydance to Java 1.1, no help. I tried setting the default printer to the Lexmark, then it doesn't print anywhere. Change it back to the Brother, then everything prints there again no matter with printer I send it to. Any help on this?

Barry,
Sorry that we let your case slip through the cracks! I apologize for the untimely response.
Regarding your printing issue, does it persist? Its a bit unusual and I am not sure how much of it lies in Moneydance and what might be going on with your computer instead.
Have you had any similar problems with other programs?
Would you be willing to go to Help -> Error Console and have that open while you try to print?
If it produces any messages while you are trying to print, please send them to me.

I've had this problem persistently for all versions. I have to constantly change my printer default depending what I'm trying to print (checks or register). There's nothing on the error console. Moneydance always prints to the default printer no matter what I do. :-(

Oh yeah, let me add that I've seen this on Leopard, Snow Leopard, and now on Lion. No change. I'm running MD 803.

Clara,
I'm sorry but I'm not sure what could be causing this. Are you changing the default printer in the system preferences? Is it the case that when you change it there you can get it to go to the correct printer but when you change the printer in the print dialog in Moneydance it does not change it?

Hi Jon - Mostly correct. Basically Moneydance respects the default printer, but essentially ignores the printer dialog box. All printing only goes to the Mac OS X selected default printer.

I just checked, and the problem seems to have been resolved after my
switch to the new version of MoneyDance and Mac OS X Lion. I'm not
sure who's problem it was, but it's gone now!
