Category Tags How To Delete Them
How do I delete category tags? I have tried replace using a single space but that does not work and if I delete the tag it repopulates as soon as I move off the category tags field. I hate the tags I have read the long explanation as to why they are great, I am of a differing opinion and wish I could disable them from ever being displayed.
Sorry for the rant.
Thanks in advance for the help.
Roger

I am a little unsure what you are describing here. "Category" and "Tags" are two different fields in Moneydance. The category is above the tags field in a transaction.

Sorry I thought it was one entry. It is the category field I am trying to delete. Some how I accidentally selected Auto for as the category for my entry for groceries. I want to delete it. I do not use the category field and want to remove it from all entries that has it selected.
Thanks.

In Moneydance all transactions need to have a category. If you don't want to use the category field I suggest creating a new category called "Uncategorized". To do this go to the menu bar and select Tools->Categories... and click the "New" button. Once you have created the new category you can apply it to your transactions and set it as the default category on your account.

Thank you for your help Ben.
Not the answer I had hoped for. I would like to be able to delete the category entries and leave it blank or hide the category and tags column.
Thanks again.

You could create a category that has a empty name instead of one called "Uncategorized."
