Cannot download transactions from Wells Fargo Advisors (formerly Wachovia)

Since setting up MD, I have had this account set up as a Wachovia account (Wells Fargo Advisors was not a choice back then). Download has worked fine until today, when I got the attached error message.

Thinking it may be related to the wrong institution name, I changed the online banking setup, and chose a new connection with Wells Fargo Advisors. Now it says it doesn't recognize the login/password combination. I tried logging into the website, and this login combination works fine there. Curiously, though, there is an ALERT message at the top of WFA's download page that says that Quicken 2008 users must upgrade in order to continue using their download feature. I am a former Quicken 2008 owner, and have been getting emails from Intuit saying that my online services will no longer be supported. Is this some kind of backdoor sabotage by Quicken? Has anyone else encountered this problem?

BTW, all my other institutions downloaded just fine today.

    More info:

Turns out I used the wrong Wells Fargo Advisors setup, as there is actually a choice under Wachovia (Wells Fargo Advisors) now. When I tried to set it up that way, I got past the login/password combo fine, but now cannot get past the "Choose an account to use" screen because all choices are greyed out. See attached screen shot:

So, is this related to the Quicken upgrade issue?

    Even more info:

I decided to try importing from the QFX download instead. The file downloads fine from the WFA website, but when I go to import the transactions, the only accounts offered by MD are Investment type accounts, while my checking transactions for this account are in a Bank type account.

Formerly in Quicken, I had two accounts associated with this account, a checking account and an investment account. Quicken allowed them to be linked for cash transfers, and it handled the import process automatically. Since using MD, I have found that I cannot use download feature in the investment side of this account, as it tries to put all my checking transactions in there, so I have just been downloading into the checking account, and manually entering the few investment transactions that hit the securities side of the investment account.

    Any suggestions?

I seem to have solved the problem, at least for now. I setup a new connection using Wachovia Bank (which is apparently where the checking portion of my account resides), using my same old login/password combination, and this time it worked, and downloaded the transactions just fine. Maybe this was just a one time glitch.

    Hi,

This was indeed a one-time glitch related to Quicken's forced upgrade from Quicken 2008. You should be good to go until the next time this happens.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance, and thanks for using Moneydance!
