Must re-enter license key every time I start the program.
My wife is using Moneydance (2010r3 build 757) on her mac (OS 10.6.7). I don't know which version of Java she has on it.
We recently purchased a license and entered it successfully, but every time we restart the program, we have to enter it. I saw that we should edit the write permissions for the .moneydance folder and I have follow the instructions for that, but was not able to find the .moneydance folder.
Any help with finding that folder other than going to Finder and searching for the folder?
Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike
The .moneydance folder is a hidden folder. Please see the following instructions on fixing the permissions problem.

Hi Ben,
Yes, I am aware of the link your provided. We already tried that and were
unable to locate the hidden .moneydance folder. Could you tell me more
specifically where the folder is located? I can view hidden folders through
the open or save dialog box by pression cmd + shft + . so if I know the
possible locations of the hidden .moneydance folder, I may be able to locate
it manually, since searching for it did not produce any results.

If it has been created it is in your user folder.

It appears that the folder has not been created. I have reinstalled
moneydance, hoping that it would create the folder when it reinstalled, but
it did not. What else can I do?

Log into OS X under your wife's login credentials, whatever they may be.
Go to Go -> Utilities -> Terminal
In the terminal window type: sudo ls -i
If you never used the super user account before, it will prompt you to create a password. Do so.
Under sudo ls -i, you should see all the folders in your wife's user account. There should be a listing for .moneydance .
To change permission type the following: chmod 770 .moneydance
